
Director of Curriculum
Jared Peatman is a historian and educator who provides leadership development events through a wide range of historic sites or metaphors. A graduate of Gettysburg College with a master's degree from Virginia Tech and Ph.D. from Texas A&M. Jared's first book, The Long Shadow of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, was released in November 2013. For that project Jared was named the 2009 Organization of American Historians/Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission Doctoral Fellow and in 2012 received the Hay-Nicolay Dissertation Prize for the best work on Abraham Lincoln or the Civil War. As LLI's director of curriculum, Jared has created dozens of leadership sessions based on sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Alamo, Normandy, and Waterloo. He holds a certificate of achievement in experiential education from the National Society for Experience Education, and is certified to deliver the EQ-i2.0 and EQ360 Emotional Intelligence Assessments. Jared is currently working on a book about Joshua Chamberlain, the 20th Maine, and the Battle of Gettysburg.
Dr. Jared Peatman serves as Director of Curriculum at the Lincoln Leadership Institute, where he oversees the development and implementation of all educational programs. His distinguished academic background, including degrees from Gettysburg College, Virginia Tech, and a Ph.D. in History from Texas A&M University, provides the foundation for his innovative approach to history-based leadership education.
His approach to curriculum development focuses on creating transformative learning experiences that challenge participants to grow both personally and professionally. He emphasizes the integration of historical leadership lessons with contemporary leadership challenges.
