Shaping Modern Leaders Through Timeless Principles

We equip leaders to perform and produce in rapidly changing, stressful environments through transformational experiences at iconic historical sites.

Our Heritage, Philosophy, and Mission

Born from a deep appreciation for the lessons embedded in pivotal historical moments, the Lincoln Leadership Institute was founded to unlock the transformative power of history's greatest leadership lessons. We use iconic historical sites like Gettysburg as leadership training classrooms, connecting the past to present challenges.

Our mission is clear: We equip leaders to perform and produce in rapidly changing, stressful environments. We believe that the timeless principles of leadership demonstrated on battlefields can transform modern organizations and improve your bottom line.

We employ a unique methodology centered around experiential learning at various historical sites including Gettysburg, the Alamo, Pearl Harbor, and Normandy. This immersive approach highlights leadership lessons from the past and applies them to present challenges, delivering what USA TODAY calls “The most powerful performance training available.”

A Word From Our Founder, Steve Wiley

“When I first walked the fields of Gettysburg, I realized that the greatest leadership lessons in history weren't just preserved in books—they were embedded in the very ground where courage, character, and decisive action changed the course of nations. That revelation sparked a mission: to transform how leaders are developed by immersing them in the crucible where leadership was tested under the ultimate pressure.”

“Today's leaders face unprecedented challenges—rapidly changing markets, complex global dynamics, and the need to inspire teams in uncertain times. The principles that guided Lincoln, that drove commanders at D-Day, that sustained leaders through our nation's most defining moments, are not historical artifacts. They are timeless truths that, when properly understood and applied, create transformational results in modern organizations.”

“At the Lincoln Leadership Institute, we don't just teach leadership theory—we forge leaders of character through experiential learning that challenges, inspires, and fundamentally changes how you see yourself and your capacity to lead. When you walk in the footsteps of history's greatest leaders, you discover that you're capable of far more than you imagined.”
